Below are some recordings that I've done. I included two versions of "Goodbye Yellow Tulips", which is one of my original compositions. One is a trio, which is how it was originally conceived, and features my friends Wes Morgan on bass and Steve Burkholder on drums. The only elements that are composed in advance are the melodic themes and harmonic foundations but nothing is written down. Collectively we work out how we want the music to feel and then improvise off the composed elements. The other version is a solo piano arrangement I did later, to convey the simple beauty of the composition and make it accessible for my students to play. "Summertime" is a jazz standard, also featuring Wes and Steve, that we improvised by ear with our own interpretation.
Also, here are some videos on YouTube. This is a live performance with a jazz quartet... Birks Works. This one is something I learned just because... Remembering Before All This. Here I was testing a camera mount that didn't work but I had fun playing anyway!... C Jam Blues. And this is a collection of original electronic compositions I did with synths and electric drumset. I performed all the instruments myself and did the recording, programming and mixing on the computer. I also did the accompanying visual effects... Original Electronic Music.
